Rihanna will be playing Smurfette in the new Smurf film.
Rihanna attended CinemaCon 2023, and she announced she will be playing Smurfette in the new film, 'The Smurf Movie'.
Rihanna said, "Doing animation is fun for me!" “I hope this gives me a little bit of cool points with my kids one day.” “I tried to get the Papa Smurf role but It didn’t work out,”
Rihanna said, "Getting to do animation is a fun journey for me. I’m usually front and center with everything with my likeness…but this was fun, I got to imagine, I got to show up in my pajamas in my third trimester, and be a blue badass.”
Rihanna previously starred in DreamWorks’ animated feature Home as the voice of Gratuity. She’s also acted in Battleship, This Is the End, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and Ocean’s 8.
The film will release on February 14, 2025.
