R&B Singer Usher Will Receive Honorary Doctorate From Berklee College

Berklee College of Music will present an honorary degree to R&B singer Usher during its commencement next month on May 13 at Agannis Arena.


Usher will receive an honorary Doctor of Music degree along with 4-time Grammy winning sing-songwriter Roberta Flack



Usher Raymond IV was born in Dallas, Texas, to Jonetta Patton (née O'Neal) and Usher Raymond III. He began singing when he was six years old


Usher in 1995, released his first studio album the year prior, dropping the self-titled Usher while still in his teens. He went on to record the multi-platinum selling My Way, 8701, and Confessions, topping charts with hits like "You Make Me Wanna...," "U Remind Me," "U Got It Bad," "Yeah!," "Burn," and "Confessions Part II."



Throughout the course of his career, Usher has won eight Grammy awards, 35 ASCAP Awards, 18 Billboard Music Awards, 14 BMI Awards, nine Soul Train Music Awards, and eight American Music Awards.


Usher's residency in Las Vegas lasts from February 24, 2023, to July 15, 2023.
