Four people are dead and as many as 20 reportedly injured following a shooting at a birthday party in Dadeville Saturday night, according to multiple reports.
During a press conference Senior Trooper Jeremy Burkett said the shooting had resulted in a “multitude” of injuries.
“This is going to be a long, complicated process,” he said. “We’re going to continue to work though in a very methodical way, to go through this scene, to look at the facts, and ensure that justice is brought to bear for the families.”
According to CNN, 15 teenagers were treated for gunshot wounds at Dadeville’s Lake Martin Community Hospital, citing a hospital spokesman.
The shooting happened at a birthday party in downtown Dadeville, Alabama, about 50 miles northeast of Montogomery, at around 10:30 p.m.
Sgt. Jeremy Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said “There were four lives tragically lost in this incident and there’s been a multitude of injuries,”
The gunfire erupted in Mahogany Masterpiece dance studio, which was converted from old Bank of Dadeville two years ago
Pastor Ben Hayes, who serves as the chaplain for the Dadeville Police Department said, “One of the young men that was killed was one of our star athletes and just a great guy. So I knew many of these students. Dadeville is a small town and this is going to affect everybody in this area,”
