DJ Jazzy Jeff Sympathetic Towards Will Smith After Oscars Slap

Will Smith’s longtime friend DJ Jazzy Jeff talked about the slapping of Chris Rock at the Oscars during a recent interview with Chicago radio station 107.5 WCGI.

Here’s what he said,

“Don’t get it twisted that it was something he was proud of. It was a lapse in judgment, you know?" he said in a clip shared on Instagram.

"I think the thing that I've realized is I don't know too many people that has had the least amount of lapse of judgment than him. I can name 50 times that he should've smacked the s--- out of somebody and he didn't," Jeff added of Will. "So for him to have a lapse in judgment, he's human. And I think a lot of the criticism comes from the people who don't think people like that are human."

The Academy announced that Smith is banned from all Academy events and programs for the next 10 years, both virtual and in-person.

We are all human and sometimes get pushed to the edge.. nevertheless if he had the true and Irving God living within Him, he would have had the strength to make it through 51 possible slaps. The punishment mY seem harsh right now but he may need that time to gain his inner strength again. Praying for Will S. and Chris R.

I totally agree with Jazzy, and there must have been some ghosts in his head from some past experience that he just couldn't handle. One mistake like this, does not define a person or his future actions. I am certain that he will sort it out, as time passes, and make the correct adjustments in his Life.. Love ya Will!
