Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett's 2-year-old daughter Arrayah died after drowning in a pool.
According to a statement from the Tampa Police Department, It happened around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning At Barrett’s home, when the police arrived after receiving a call that a child had fallen into a pool.
Authorities said Arrayah was brought to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, “It is not believed to be suspicious in nature at this time, but a purely accidental and tragic incident,"
Buccaneers Organization Tweeted,
"Today's tragic news is heartbreaking for all the members of the Buccaneers family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time," the statement read. "While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah."
Tom Brady posted on Instagram his heartfelt condolences, expressed his condolences,
“The Brady's love you," with prayer emojis.
Arrayah was the youngest of four children Shaquil Barrett shares with his wife, Jordanna.
Linebacker Shaquil Barrett played five seasons with the Broncos, including winning Super Bowl 50, Barrett signed with the Buccaneers. His level of play increased, making the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams in 2019 after leading the league in sacks, and in 2021 won Super Bowl LV.
