Aaliyah‘s new posthumous album, “Unstoppable”, is set to be released later this month.
Her uncle and former label head Barry Hankerson said, “About five years ago we realized we had quite a bit of music that we had never put out that was recorded by Aaliyah. The vocals were there, and we decided to try to remaster it and to ask other artists that were big fans of her if they would like to participate in being on various songs.”
The lead single is “Poison” with The Weeknd. Other collaborations on the album include songs with Ne-Yo, Snoop Dogg, Future, Drake and Chris Brown.
Back in August, it was revealed that Hankerson and EMPIRE records would finally be releasing Aaliyah’s back catalog to streaming services.
